Photos from Koya-san

Koya-san is a common starting point of Shikoku Pilgrimage as the pilgrimage will follow the footsteps of Kōbō-Daishi , who was the founder of the temple. The whole Shikoku Pilgrimage would take two months (1200 km) on foot. Today many devotees use motor coaches, which reduces the number of days necessary to finish the Pilgrimage from months to days.

You need to take off your shoes before entering religious buildings. You can tell which one is mine even you don't know my shoes. (Hint: there is one set of shoes placed differently.)
